Welcome to the Pain RADAR website: Improving Acute Pain
Education
In 2009, a multidisciplinary UK expert panel
met to define and agree a practical framework to encourage
implementation of the numerous guidelines and fundamentals of pain
management at a local level.
Meet the group
members.
This was when the RADAR
(Responsibility, Assessment, Discussion, Anticipation and Response)
Approach was born and a Consensus
Statement was written. We strongly feel that pain should
be on everyone's radar - it is not only the responsibility of the
acute pain specialists.
We hope that this website will provide
information for you to learn about optimising pain management.
There is also a section of free downloadable training materials for
you to help your team improve acute pain management in your
hospital.

There are several RADAR meetings being organised all over the
country, so please
register if you would like to be informed of the meeting dates
and locations.
Alternatively if you are interested in hosting a RADAR meeting
then please
create a meeting account and you will be able to access
meeting materials and manage your own meetings. These meetings can
be as big or small as you want to make them. There are different
materials available for different length meetings.
